Sunday, February 04, 2007 walking on water hi guys! i just came back from the christian fellowship's ski retreat, and feeling refreshed for the coming semester! :) just have a little thing to share which came to me somewhat during the retreat. Remember the incident where Peter walks on water (Matt 14 i think, also in Mark)? a question popped into my head the other day- in that whole scenario, which place was the safest? i realized that it probably wasn't the boat. the wind and the waves were strong, and the disciples were probably hanging on for dear life. the safest place was with Jesus, and Peter saw that in walking towards Him. it stuck with me personally because i am somewhat literally out of the boat- out of my comfort zone etc etc etc. but i believe that each and everyone of us are placed into situations that don't seem to be our cup of tea. holding on to the past, holding on to things that are familiar or tried and tested are not the safest things to do- the safest thing is to walk out towards Jesus, and He will carry you through. :)
