I was the earliest! *proud beam* probably only one of the few occasions when I was actually the first one to arrive haha. Sat on Yeow's chair reading about biological psychology... and saw a huge picture of a monkey just as Yeow was talking to Eph on the phone about eating at Munchy Monkey Cafe at YIH. and couldn't stop laughing hahaha.

Yes, I attempted to learn guitar while waiting for the rest and dinner to arrive... but I could only get past 'Old Macdonald had a farm'. But thanks to Eph's patient guidance, I managed to at least learn the more important basic chords and work on my trasitioning (which still needs a LOT of work).

After making our way through the mazes in the hall to reach different rooftops, we finally settled down on a pretty spacious cooling one. Dinner and praise & worship there was quite enjoyable... I couldn't stay for the entire praise & worship session cos my relatives were having a gathering and my aunt came over to pick me from her workplace nearby, but I treasured whatever time I spent together with the CG peeps.

hey guys the 1st cg of the yr will be at melissa's hse. the cg will be meeting at bukit panjang plaza at 7pm. directions on how to get to the plaza:
From HCI- take 171 all the way to bukit panjang plaza but have to stop at the plaza coz the bus doesnt go to the interchange.
AC- take 75 or 184 to the bukit panjang interchange and walk.
RJ- take mrt from bishan to choa chu kang, switch to lrt den take lrt to bukit panjang. =D

From AC: take 74, then change to 75 or 184 at ngee ann poly. 75 (stop at the 4th stop excluding bukit panjang bus interchange stop); 184(stop at 5th stop excluding bus interchange stop). den look around and u will c a condominium by the name of cashew heights. after tat give melissa or shawn a buzz.=D

Hey dearly beloveds!

This is a very very belated post... Charity sent us a postcard quite some time ago but I didn't get a chance to meet all of you together, so I'll type her message here:

To: JC West A (and to everyone who knows me well enough ^^)

Hello! To all you beloved brothers & sisters in Christ =) I was thinking of you guys during my trip to Scotland and Lake District so I decided to send ya all a postcard =) I miss you guys! The fun, insanity, weirdness... though a portion of insanity was present in the group I travelled with. Miss the unique anointed sharing and random fun moments.

Lake District was just so awe-inspiring. Taking the bus to get around from town to town it's all just fields - in different colours 'cos it's autumn now - like an artist's palate... and sheep and sheep and more sheep (insert sheep picture here: charity drew one on the postcard but it's not possible to put it here haha) meh? that really looked like those cottonwool projects we did in kindergarten - balls of fluff. What was just so awesome was spending time in the Word with that kind of surroundings. Looking at sheep - having no cares and just feeding and feeding and feeding beside streams - imagining myself as one... carefree and satisfied.

Psalms 23 goes 'The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want'. I am to be like those sheep... He will take care of everything. 'He makes me to lie down in green pastures' I can't begin to describe what green pastures look like up close... nothing like the grass in Singapore and God makes you lie down - causes you to rest... and sheep lie on their side... leaving the flank completely exposed - complete trust in the shepherd. I challenge myself. do I trust God completely? Am I aware of how much He has done for me and is doing for me? [this goes especially for the exam people]

All the little white balls of fluff looked pretty much the same to me... I thought 'oh. look. sheep' but it's so awesome that God doesn't think the same way. John 10:3 "To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out" John 10:11 "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep." I'd say nvm la, lose one sheep only, still got so many more... all the same one. But God thinks differently and treasures each and every individual. So cool.

And a friend brought another one to light. We saw this random black sheep in the flock - like completely black - and thinking about black sheep set me thinking about sheep gone astray (Luke 15:4-7) and the heart of God. To know that He loves you as an individual, He's your protector, your saviour. Beautiful.

And that's just the sheep bit. There were autumn lanes... with orange and gold trees overhanging paths covered in leaves... like korean dramas lol. But it was so so beautiful, even more so knowing that God made them for me to look at =) Know that Jesus loves you so so much [and you are so blessed to have Pastor tell you that every week.] God bless!

took my grade 5 piano exam 1mth ago... i didnt have a teacher.
basically i bought e book anyhow learn..then reg for exam..
(ppl norm take lessons for 1 yr before gg for exam. I went to e shop to try to get lessons-they din wana allow me to take grade 5 cuz i nv take grade 4. & i only had half a year to prep when ppl have 1. i took grade 3 in pri5)
being e slacker i am, i really nv managed to find a teacher,
until 4 days before exam, i found out Deborah who was from our cg is qualified! I got her to give me a crash course e day before exam. Deborah was panicking for me larh. imagine that.. my teacher was panicking..u noe how bad tt is LOL..

anyw i went for e exam. i stopped three freaking times and one of e songs i anyhow play. if i were e examiner i wld've failed myself larh. BUT
i jus got my results!
I PASSED!
and btwn pass and merit (100 and 120) i got 114 which is more twds merit!!
I read e coments of e examiner and they actually sounded good omg.

so yeah......! you have God's favour!! YES I KNOW YOU DONT DESERVE IT.. but well!
and you have the mind of christ!! He gives u e ability!

hi guys! this post is specially directed at the j2s, although i'm sure everyone can learn a lesson from it :)

i know that a levels are coming up, and of course the stress is building up like crazy. and i can totally empathize, cos that's what's going on over here too. in a sudden exponential increase in work i'm finding myself behind in my work. to top it off, i'm having my first major tests of the year in a wk's time (my hols are the wk after that, but that's not the point of this post :p). when everyone around you is stressing out, you might wonder if it's ever possible to stay above all the frantic worrying.

and there is. we have a higher and better way because of Jesus Christ. no longer do we have to eat bread in the sweat of our faces (Gen 3:19). God has given us the rest, and all that we have to "do" is to believe. Jesus has already gone before you and called you blessed. King David calls you the blessed man (Rom 4:7-8).

"And blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit." - Jer 17:7-8

Here are some practical points that i found/find useful in studying for exams (or even just life in general). Some things are more specific, u may not feel led to do it, but anyway here goes:

1. Pray. Pray before you study, before every exam, even during the exam. Ask the Holy Spirit to show u the things to study, ask Him for His peace to guard your heart through the exam period.

2. Take your exam timetable (a copy of your entry proof, not the real one), and write, in big bold (maybe red) letters something along the lines of "Jesus has paid it all" or "Jesus is my victory" or "The battle is the Lord's". then stick it up somewhere so you see it everyday.

3. Compile a list of Scriptures that speak directly to your situation. Print them out in large print and stick them all over your room. read them everyday. or alternatively print out a list and read them every morning. keep the Word constantly in your heart.

4. Make good use of your teachers and friends. Teachers, no matter how bad they may be in class, are usually pretty good one-on-one. If they're not, find some of your friends who know the material and go over it with them.

That's it for now i think. and one story that i really love is in 2 Chr 20, when 3 armies came up against King Jehoshaphat. I think the story is pretty self-explanatory, so if you ever have 2 minutes to spare, go to that chapter and read through the story, and see how God delivered King Jehoshaphat without him even having to lift a finger. cheers, and really looking forward to seeing you guys soon! :D

hi all! i shall post this time :)

as some/most/all of you know, i'll be leaving tomorrow for my second yr of uni in the US. i've been back in singapore for abt 3 months, and i must say that i've been really blessed by all of you. great to see the old(er) pple, getting to know them better, getting to know the new pple.... all of you, in some way or another, have been a blessing to me.

Secondly, the GP seminar is on this coming 4 Aug 07 on Saturday!!!! =D This seminar is not to be missed!! Beloveds.. this seminar is not just for the existing JC students in our cg to receive wisdom as to how to study well for GP, but also for seniors to invite our believer or pre-believer JC juniors to experience Jesus! Do see this as an awesome portion for yourselves to make a difference in the lives of people who have yet to experience a real God, a Saviour King!

MAD is relaunching again this saturday at .. no not level 6.. not level 4... but yes.. its at LEVEL 3!! its going to be at the main Rock auditorium this time!! God is bringing in the people manz! Just in case there's some of u peeps who do not know what MAD is all about, MAD is simply about Making A Difference!! That, God wants to first make a difference in YOUR life, and through your positive testimonies and own walk with our Lord, Make A Difference into a life of another!!

If only u could see from heaven's view how 1 pebble once cast into a pool of water, can cause far reaching and outstretched ripples.. How precious it would be, as the whole heaven rejoices as 1 of our loved ones accepts the Lord as their Savior, and that He is brought back to their own families.. to let Him impact them anew!! Beloveds, I wanna encourage you to bring along your unsaved loved ones... or friends whom u have not seen, or know not attending a church, to bring them into the house of God to experience the Father's love for them! This groundbreaking milestone for Arrow ministry is certainly 1 to be remembered and not to be missed!

The CG venue has been set at shin ying's house for this week's caregroup!! Praise Jesus! =) Thanks for all who have also volunteered their places for CG. The Lord is your rewarder, and certainly sees your heart manz! If you had previously volunteered your place in faith, the Lord has already seen it and has considered it as done! For faith is the substance that makes God turn His head, and focuses His warm loving eyes and attention at you! Be prepared to be blessed out of your socks manz.. be prepared!! Thanks all of you!!

Meetup time: 7pm

Guys!! =) Its Arrow time again!!! This Arrow, something special is going to happen... In view of our rapidly increasing Arrow Ministry size (yay!! haha! God is bringing the people in!!!), we're going to have a recruitment drive for servers who wish to serve in the following few areas, namely:

1) RSM
These are the dedicated Royal Steward Ministry servers of Arrow ministry. These people are the anointed ones who welcome all of us into the auditorium with a big smile and a warm handshake! Certainly one of the most upfront ministries that would meet the needs of the people first! They are the ones who help make sure the service is run smoothly by clearing and packing chairs, area maintenance, passing around offering bags, showing people to their seats, security & also 'catching' people during ministering.

2) Logistics
No service can be run without these background heroes who help to set up the musical instruments, lighting and sound equipment to aid the music ministry and RSM team. This ministry is not just an integral part of Arrow, but one who also welcomes both genders to serve in because of its versatility and less emphasis on physical strength due to modern day gadgets such as trolleys and jacks.

3) Sound/Video
Truly, this ministry has the power to turn pastor on or off! =) These people are the ones who are trained from scratch to use the sound and video equipment in Arrow. Without them, there would be no music, lyrics, verses nor video coverage of pastor's sermons. Impt, impt people!

4) Publicity
Announcement slides, and events promotion are done by these people along with any other form of posters or softcopy/hardcopy designs of logos. These are where the creative beloveds have free reign to exercise and use the gifts from God to bless and capture the attention of others!

5) Admin & Finance
Budget preparation for services and events are done by these guys. They also provide administrative support for all the events. People applying for this area should be detailed, and careful

6) Production team
Without these guys, we will not be able to see all those awesome props, and layouts that accompany every arrow theme. In fact, these are the guys who brainstorm for the teams, and ensure that the operation of Arrow services go smoothly. If you all think pre-services are fun, these are the guys personally in charge of the ice breakers! Creativity is able to be explored and developed in this particularly 'happening' ministry with cool people!

7) Photographer/Dancers/Facilitators
Photographers are the key people to capture how God is moving in the lives of the people during Arrow. Certainly a ministry not to be taken lightly! Services and events would be covered by these people armed with a steady hand, and a passion to capture where God is working amongst the people! Performers like the dancers are the precious beloveds with the gift of artistic abilities that put up performances at services or events. Facilitators would provide general event support.

8) Events
This unit is responsible for organizing and executing the ministry level events. Event such as service launch, camp are examples that they will be involved in. Tasks expected would be games planning, operation co-ordination and facilitating the events.

Thats all! I certainly hope that you all will take some time to think about it, and ask yourself if God has placed in you a burning desire to serve beloveds in His kingdom. It is truly and honor and a priviledge to know that God is no debtor, and as certainly you have come to honor the Lord with your first fruits of talents, gifts, time, effort and money, God does not leave you poorer than before, simply because of Abba being our inexhaustible and willing Provider. =) Thus, lets have a good Arrow service, and pls revert to me when you see this and have not replied the smses to come for Arrow on 14/07/07!!!!

Hey beloveds..

Saw this today, and it's so precious.. In Genesis 12 and 13, God told Abram to leave his country, Haran, to go to The Promised Land He had for him.

Haran is translated as dry, scorched, burnt and angry.

Abram obeyed God and left to possess his Promised Land. On his way, he built an altar to God at these three places:

1. Shechem = place of strength - God will always put you in a place of your strength
2. Bethel = house of God - God wants you to stay in the house of God
3. Hebron = fellowship - God wants us to be in good Godly counsel, have Godly alliances and make good kingdom friendships

Our Promise Land will be in an area of our strength; our destiny and calling will be in a place of Grace, with much ease and peace. It will be something you WANT TO do. Our Promised Land also entails us being in the house of God and being among good Godly counsel, building good kingdom friendships with those of kindred spirit.

Wow.. I love the little treasures and nuggets of wisdom that God leaves for those who search Him out.. I encourage ya’ll to do that! Truly.. the answers you need are all found in Him! =)

i was pretty amazed to be reminded of the fact that Daddy God never
EVER needs us, but instead, out of the graciousness of His love for us
He calls us by name and grows us in ways only He can; constantly doing
a perfecting work both IN and THROUGH us that we may bring His light
and glory to a world that is lost and suffering, just through our
everyday small little actions.

faithful to Him! for He first loved us!

This morning I read a few devotions circling around the issues of allowing God to change us before He can use us to change the world.

"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work."
~ 2 Timothy 2:20-21 (Read 20-26)

In every step of our life journey, God's constantly and faithfully shaping us and moulding us to become like Jesus, vessels of glory for Him to work through us. Often, He also uses the most unlikely people at the most unlikely places to teach us some of life's most difficult lessons. Trials and obstacles may not be from God, but He allows them to happen so that He can build us up through them, through the testing of faith and character, and we'll come out of the storm stronger and more like Jesus.He never gives us more than we can handle, and we have His promise that He'll be with us every step of the way, holding our hands in the valley of shadow and death, and hoisting us on His mighty wings to fly above the storms.

In fact, one devotion even says that if we don't feel that we have much to repent of, it may actually be the first signs of self-righteousness and pride. God's 'refinishing' of our souls is an ongoing process, and spending time with God in His word keeps us in the light of the "repentance zone" where God works to deepen the shine of our lives. Repentance is an ongoing process of shedding things that dull our hearts, like harbouring negative emotions and grudges, selfish habits and things that get in the way of being a shining ambassador of Christ (: As long as we keep our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith, Jesus, we'll know that one day this work will be finished.

"He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ" ~ Philippians 1:6

Let's continue to encourage other and support each other in this 'refinishing' process. Our heavenly Father not only refinishes us, He finishes the work!

Hey guys, The following Selene from NUS read the following in a book and shared it with theCGLs in NUS cluster. It's really powerful and I thought it would begood to share it with all of you.

STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW

I was visiting a church where the youth pastor was explaining how wewere arrows. I couldn't help but make the application to my life.Isaiah says: "He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadowof His hand He hid me; He made me into a polished arrow and concealedme in His quiver" (Isaiah 49:2 NIV).In the light of the fact that He apparently makes us into polishedarrows, there are some things we need to understand about the creationof arrows in order to grasp the importance. Unbeknownst to me, thereis a fine art to the creation of an arrow. There is little room forerror as the arrow is created for one specific purpose- to be shottoward a target or goal. Most important, there is the selection of theentire basis of the arrow- the wood, which becomes the shaft, thefoundation of the arrow

SELECTION OF THE WOOD

Now, there isn't a magic arrow tree, you know. So the selection of thetype of wood is very important. An arrow needs to be constructed fromheavy, strong timber so it can withstand the strain of being firedfrom a hundred-pound-plus bow (that is the force) and also be able toimpact an animal or steel plate without shattering. Not just any treewill do. Cedar, pine, and fir are the most common wood types becauseof their strength. God selects us in the same way. "you did not chooseme, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit- fruit thatwill last" (John 15:16 NIV). Have you ever thought to consider thatthe Lord has chosen you because you have an innate strength He wouldlike to use for a specific purpose? One He gave and anointed you for?

PAINS OF PRUNING

The next natural step involves the pruning of the branches. Ever seenas arrow flying though the sky with leaves still attached? If youhave, it didn't go far! The extra weight and sprigs must be removed,or they will disrupt the air flow and agility of the arrow, causing itnot to be as efficient. Similarly, God works in our life to removethose things that hinder our service for Him. "I am the true vine, andmy Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bearsno fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that itwill be even more fruitful" (John 15:1-2 NIV). God makes sure that Heremoves things from our life that will impede our flight. On the otherhand, He sometimes adds to our life people and circumstances that wemight not even enjoy for the sole purpose of drawing us to Himself soHe can change us."And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing thattribulations produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; andcharacter hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of Godhas been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given tous ." (Romans 5:3-5 NKJV)

STRAIGHTEN IT OUT

Now, wood doesn't just grow completely straight, and the shaft makingprocess does not turn out perfectly straight shafts on the firstattempt. Wood can bend under stress or in differing humidityconditions or, ironically enough, just on its own- like us. all duringthe arrow-making process. Then they continue to perform remedialstraightening after the arrows have been shot.Once a noticeable bend is sighted, the maker can try to preliminarilystraighten it by rubbing another piece of wood against the outside ofthe bend. This actually compresses some of the cells in the wood andshortens that side so the shaft pulls back straight. Note how themaker uses the same material to encourage the wood to action. this iswhere our friends come into play. "as iron sharpens iron, so a mansharpens the countenance of his friend" (Proverbs 27:17 NKJV). Ourfriends are similar to the arrow maker in this respect. The producerof the arrow doesn't want to press too hard (leaving dents in theshaft or even breaking it), but needs to be firm enough to compresssome of the wood and encourage it back to the straight (and narrow)way. in the same fashion true friends pull you back to the Lord, notstrong-arming, but firmly holding you to the truth. Proverbs says,"Faithful are the wounds of a friend" (Proverbs 27:6 NKJV). It may notfeel good, but if you have the right people surrounding you in yourlife, they will hold you accountable and call you on things when youget a little too "curvy".In order to further straighten a shaft, the best choice is to soak thewood in oil. This makes the wood much more pliable and willing to bendto the creator's wish without stressing (which weakens) the wood byforce. if you try to bend a branch, it can break if pushed too far;but by softening the wood in oil, it becomes pliable, willing to bend.I find it interesting that the Lord used oil for similar purposes: "They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil andhealed them." (Mark 6:13 NIV". Notice the order: oil first and thenthe healing, which is analogous to the application of softening oil tothe arrow before correction.

FEEL THE HEAT

Once the maker has allowed the arrow to soak in the oil for apredetermined period of time, he applies the heat to get the "kinks"out. He places the arrow in the middle of the flame, using the heat toburn away all the impurities and to continue the straighteningprocess. He cannot take his eyes off it, because it could become toohot and catch fire, completely destroying it. Instead, he continuallytwists the shaft, careful not to leave it in the hottest part of theflame too long. Sound vaguely similar?"In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if needbe, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness ofyour faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, thoughit is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at therevelation of Jesus Christ ." (1 Peter 1:6-7 NKJV)Read Jeremiah 17:7-8: "But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,whose confidence is in Him. he will be like a tree planted by thewater that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear whenheat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a yearof drought and never fails to bear fruit" (NIV). Feel the heat?The final step in the shaft-creation process is to bind the refinedarrow with two already-tried-and-true, proven arrows. The two straightarrows finalize the straightening of the shaft under gentle guidanceby example, drawing the shaft to their already perfect straightness.Isn't it just fitting that the commands of the Word line up with that?"Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live,not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what isgood. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands andchildren, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to bekind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malignthe word of God ." (Titus 2:3-5 NIV)"Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. Ineverything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teachingshow integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech ." (Titus 2:6-8NIV)

MAKING A POINT

Once the shaft is as straight as the creator can make it, the arrow iscompleted by attaching the point and the flights (feathers that aid inairflow and guidance). Its finally time to shoot it. if you are trulythe "arrow" God has been working on and refining for His service, thenyour cry should resemble this: "'Whom shall I send, and who will gofor Us? Then I said, 'Here am i!' Send me'" (Isaiah 6:8 NKJV).What target are you shooting toward? One you have created or the oneGod has destined for you? Where do you find yourself in the refinementprocess? Are you seeking out the better thing or skipping steps andskirting the edge? Are you planning for compromise or leaning towardthe best? An arrow flies alone, but someone has to shoot it. Wheredoes your "flight" come from? When a master marksman is shootingtoward a goal, he is trusting that the arrow he has chosen was createdwith care and accuracy. He's assuming that all the steps were in placeto create the best arrow possible. The backup plan is a lot like justplucking a branch off a tree to use as an arrow and trying to hit thebull's eye. You're never going to get the outcome you want withoutgoing through the right steps. Stay on target.

Haha contrary to the title, this entry is yes a little about $50 but actually it is to show the goodness of The Lord. How you may ask. Well, last thursday I lost my camp pass which requires me to pay a fine of 50 bucks for a replacement. Well I thought to myself, maybe I can just report it lost and just use a temporary pass till I ORD, after all I only have like 11 days left in camp.Well I was wrong,it so happened that no matter what I had to pay the fine if I reported the pass as stolen/lost.
Well this caused me to be down as I didn't want to pay the fine. Well good thing I put what I learnt into practice, I chose to rest in The Lord played the United We Stand and By Your Side CDs and they sure helped minister and keep me up. Then I don't know something kept drawing me to my main office which was just next to the OPS room, well ya to top it off I really had to sign my off passes for the week.Well the great thing is that I went back to the OPS room to check for my camp pass even though i had checked it last thursday before I left for church. This time i chose to take the torch light in the room and this time I saw it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was overjoyed!!!! I believed that The Lord would lead me to the camp pass and HE DID!!!!!!!!!!He is definately faithful and he can even lead you to find your stuff amazing. REMEMEBR TO REST IN HIM

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God how could you do this to me!" he cried.

Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God. For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer for it:

hi guys! i just came back from the christian fellowship's ski retreat, and feeling refreshed for the coming semester! :)

just have a little thing to share which came to me somewhat during the retreat. Remember the incident where Peter walks on water (Matt 14 i think, also in Mark)? a question popped into my head the other day- in that whole scenario, which place was the safest? i realized that it probably wasn't the boat. the wind and the waves were strong, and the disciples were probably hanging on for dear life. the safest place was with Jesus, and Peter saw that in walking towards Him.

it stuck with me personally because i am somewhat literally out of the boat- out of my comfort zone etc etc etc. but i believe that each and everyone of us are placed into situations that don't seem to be our cup of tea. holding on to the past, holding on to things that are familiar or tried and tested are not the safest things to do- the safest thing is to walk out towards Jesus, and He will carry you through. :)

R is for Rainbow

What are rainbows all about!?

Well lets go back to a time where it first appeared..

Genesis 9..
12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: 13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

· As you can see, God repeatedly talks about the covenant, and confirming it again with a physical sign. He wants to continually assure us and for as to be at ease and peace.
· The rainbow always appears after the rain. To assure us that our fear of rain will never prevail against him. Thus we also can be assured any fear we have will also not prevail.
· The rainbow is a refraction of beams from the sun (son), which means that all the glory and significance of the seals of the covenant are derived from Christ the Sun (Son) of righteousness!
· A bow normally is terrifying because it is a weapon. But this bow doesn’t have an arrow or a string. Furthermore it is a bow and it’s directed upwards towards heaven! Always certifying that the rainbow is meant to comfort.
· God will always remember his covenant of mercy and grace. So we must remember it as well when we see the rainbow, as an affirmation.

In Ezekiel chapter one, Ezekiel had a vision of God, and at the end of his vision he said, V18, ( Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. )

· Seeing a rainbow, is just like seeing God!
· And when we see a rainbow, we are reminded of all his glory and promises and his pledge of mercy and kindness! For it is a confirmation of that gracious promise God has made that he will not drown the world again.
· Thus this shows that God’s dominion is for our protection, not our destruction that he interposes between us and the judgments our sins have deserved!

In Revelations 4:3, And He who sat there was[a] like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.

· Just like how God showed Noah a rainbow to establish a covenant of protection over him, IN CHRIST we can be assured of that covenant of promise that God has made with Christ (all the promises through Christ!) as the head of the church, and all his people IN him, which covenant is as the waters of Noah unto God, an EVERLASTING covenant!

Revelations 10:1 ( I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire. 2 He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land )

· A rainbow was upon his head signifies that he is always mindful of his covenant. Now by relating this into us, we too whom are bodies of Christ should be mindful of his covenant. Which covenant? As pastor prince said, it is the new covenant! The little book represents the new testament because it is little compared to the old.
· All of us are in the body of CHRIST thus; all of us must have a rainbow on our head and therefore a new covenant mentality! No more judgment for us! It has all been done! We’re free from condemnation and assured of his mercy and grace! And it is not something we are not guaranteed of. As God said, Gen 9:16 ( … the everlasting covenant … ) and yes God can’t lie. So people!! Yesterday, today, tomorrow. Forever we’re in him.

So remember! The next time you see a rainbow, it’s not just a wow. It’s a WOW! =P Have a blessed week ahead children of God =) grace and favour baby.

YES!

The sheep remains as a sheep! It's identity as a sheep remains unchanged. THAT is the TRUTH. It's identity is NOT dependent on what it says, wears, does, eats, etc... Its remains as a sheep no matter what the outward appearance proves it to be!

Who are YOU?? You are God's Righteousness! That is your identity. Do you ever think that sinning, falling short from your standards of perfection will change your identity? You are righteous because that's who you are, regardless of your outward appearance or circumstances. You are God's own Righteousness and you sit at His right hand far above ALL. Because Jesus has taken all your falling short, best of all, on His standards of perfection. How can you not be righteous? You are made perfect, spotless, and blameless before God no matter what.

What if you sinned? Your identity remains unchanged. God says you are blessed beyond your imagination! You are the champion in Christ. What if challenges come along the way, what if you stumbled? Your identity is unchanged, you are God's favorite! He favors you and He says you are His Beloved child, He is well pleased with you in Christ. What if you don’t feel right, you don't feel loved? Your true identity remains unchanged! You are His joy and glory. YOUR IDENTITY IS IN CHRIST! All that He is, you are. All that He has, you have, all because of his love for you. So who are you? You are who He made you in Christ and He deserves all the praise!

hi everyone! just thought i'd drop by and say hi :) how is everyone? i'm missing you guys already haha, even though it's only been a wk!

just wanted to share a revelation i received earlier this wk on rest. shared with some of you already, but must share more :) when u share u bless yourself too!

Genesis 47:29- "Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil."

Pastor has preached before that we are the Benjamin generation (he has also written a bk on it, so if you're not sure why, get your hands on the bk!). i remember coach maddy sharing before that Benjamin is a ravenous wolf, because he feeds voraciously on the Lamb i.e. Jesus and the finished work.

notice that in the second part of the verse, the wolf is eating in the morning, and also at night? this wolf never hunts, but is eating, and eating, and eating.... speaks of rest! we don't need to go out and find food, everything we need is in the finished work! so just rest and feed, rest and feed... and you will find that there is so, so much food! so much so that the wolf jia buei liao, and at night he has to share his food with others simply because he is OVERFLOWING. :)
